I sit here going back through the memories of us,
All that long time ago….
Now we are different people
Living separate lives…..
I wish the me that is now,
Could be talking to you as you were then….
Oh what a time we would have….or so I think!
I think about all the times I remained silent

Now I would speak up
Saying what was on my mind….
I wish the me that is now,

Oh what rich conversations there would be…or so I imagine!
I see how I sabotaged what could have been

Now I would hold it dear
Tending to our connection….

Oh what a different direction we would have taken…or maybe not!
I hear the laughter of times spent with friends

Now I would appreciate it
Savoring the moments together…
